What counts as a second

At the August sale, half the table is seconds. People ask what's wrong with them. Usually the honest answer is: almost nothing.

A second is a pinhole in the glaze the size of a pencil tip. A slight lean you'd only find with a level. A kiln kiss, the pale mark where two pieces sat too close. They hold coffee exactly as well.

Firsts pay the rent, seconds fill the room with people. Come to the sale. Bring a box.
